Looking for educational toys that allow your child to explore, create and experiment? Look no farther-Smartlab Toys has toys that fit the bill. I was given the opportunity to review the You-Build-It RoboXplorer.

RoboXplorer image one

Kids build their very own multiterrain robotic vehicle, complete with six S-shaped legs designed to conquer some of the toughest terrains, such as sand, rocks, and grass. Test its limits by towing toy cars, climbing a stack of books, or negotiating a wall—RoboXplorer will stop at almost nothing!

021Caden and I had so much fun putting this together. We laid out all of the pieces and I had him look at the instructions and tell me how to put it together. He loves being hands-on when we are building things. After we got it assembled, we took it outside for some night time experimenting. I loved the idea that it had lights, especially since it was dark. Our cats chased it around thinking it was their toy.

This is definitely a fun toy. I would recommend it as a great project to work on with your child. You can purchase the RoboXplorer, as well as any of the other great products from Smartlab Toys directly from the Smartlab Toys website and save 25% by using savings code: BLOGDEAL0412 (expires 4/30/12). Review: Eitech® Beginner 3-Model Crawler Vehicles Construction Set

eitechI was given the privilege of getting the Eitech® Beginner 3-Model Crawler Vehicles Construction Set to review. Eitech building sets are designed, engineered and manufactured in Germany. Included in the building set are 250 construction pieces (made of plastic) and the tools to put it together. This kit will build 3 construction vehicles-but not all at the same time.

I have to admit, even though my son was totally excited to put this together, I was a little skeptical. There are a LOT of pieces in this box. I was concerned about whether he would be able to actually put it together or not. I guess I should have known better than to worry. He had everything out of the box and was checking out the instructions before I realized it. The instructions have photos to show you the steps to put it together-which is awesome because most kids his age cannot read yet. This particular set has 3 ways to put it together and we had a blast building the crane and the other 2 crawler vehicles.

The first one he wanted to build was the crane. Since this was our first one, it took us a few minutes to find all of the pieces we needed. Once we got the hang of it, the pieces fell into place. I love the idea that the kit comes with its own tools to put it together. Being able to build several items from the same pieces is pretty neat too. After we built the crane, he played with it for a while and then decided he wanted to build one of the other ones. He did the same with that vehicle and then made the other one. He finally decided that he lied the crane better and it is still all put together.

This toy is definitely an excellent one in my book. It helps build the skills needed for handling tools and the thought processes in planning what to do next. Unfortunately, I was unable to take any pictures of us putting it together because my camera broke on me. Believe me when I say that we had a great time together building the toys.

I received the product listed above for review. All opinions are 100% my own. No other compensation was received for this post.

Plasma Car Review and Giveaway

I was totally excited to be able to review the Plasma Car from Plasmart. I pulled it out of the box and within a few minutes, it was ready to go. I had to do a little story-telling though. I am giving it to him for Christmas and in order to do the review, I had to get him to ride it so I could actually do a review. I told him that it was a gift for his little nephew and that I wanted him to ride it to see if it was something Madixx would like it. Lucky for me, he rode it and was okay with it when we put it up. He did say that he wanted one from Santa though. I was worried about how I was going to do the review but it went great.

When he got on it, he rode in circles through the house until he could not go anymore. He told me that he thought Madixx would like it. He rode it a few more times and then I put it away (for now). I think he will be really excited to get it under the tree. As you can see in the photo below, he was a blur from having so much fun riding it.051

The Plasma car will support riders up to 220pounds on a smooth surface and 120 on a rough surface. Unfortunately for me, I exceed the weight limit by a few pounds and won’t get to try it until I lose a few. You can get your own Plasma Car at Amazon or you can locate a retailer near you by visiting PlasmaCar.com OR you can enter to win one during the Turkey Hunt Giveaway Hop.

I was given the Plasma Car free of charge by Plasmart to review. All opinions are 100% my own. I received no other compensation for this post.
