Get ready for a YO HO great time this summer with Disney Junior’s interactive multi-platform "Yo Ho, Let’s Go Summer!" programming event. My son is a huge Disney fan and will be so excited!

Disney Junior’s "Yo Ho, Let’s Go Summer!" programming event kicks off on Monday, June 4 with a week of new "Jake and the Never Land Pirates" episodes airing on both the Disney Junior programming block on Disney Channel (8:30 a.m., ET/PT) and the new 24-hour Disney Junior channel (5:30 p.m., ET/PT). Also beginning June 4, kids and their parents can log on to to print out pictures of their favorite Disney Junior characters to take along with them and include in photos of their summer adventures. Parents can then upload the photos of their child with their character for the chance to be seen on Disney Junior. The site will also feature a printable summer scrapbook, with new pages added each week through August 24.

Beginning Friday, June 15, new episodes of favorite Disney Junior series will air every Friday throughout the summer on both the Disney Junior programming block and the Disney Junior channel. During each episode premiere, kids will see a featured Disney Junior character of the day and can go online to to unlock a new game based on that character.

Among the premieres are an episode of "Jake and the Never Land Pirates" where Marina (voiced by recurring guest star Ariel Winter of "Modern Family") and the rest of the mermaids make Izzy an honorary mermaid, Friday, June 29; a special 45-minute episode of "Jungle Junction," where Zooter and Ellyvan care for a stranded baby FlaGoGo bird, Friday, July 6; Donald Duck serves as a reluctant babysitter for a mystery egg on "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse," Friday, July 13; Jim Belushi guest stars as the recurring character Glo-Bo, a six-handed toy monster in "Doc McStuffins," Friday, July 20; Jane Kaczmarek guest stars in the recurring role of Red Jessica, a swashbuckling pirate gal who wins over Captain Hook in "Jake and the Never Land Pirates," Friday, August 10; and a heartwarming episode of "Doc McStuffins" where Doc’s toy friends come to her rescue when she becomes the patient, Friday, August 17.

In anticipation of this summer’s programming festivities, the network today launched two new iOS apps, the "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Road Rally" appisode app on iPad and "Jake’s Never Land Pirate School" gaming app for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.

The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Road Rally appisode brings viewing, learning and interaction together into one cohesive, fun-filled iPad experience. Fans 2-7 years old can touch, tap shake, swipe, drag and talk through an entire episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. The activities presented in the "appisode" include valuable counting, critical thinking and problem solving skills. This is the first in a series of Disney Junior Appisodes to be released this year.

Using the "Jake’s Never Land Pirate School" app, preschoolers can become completely immersed in Never Land, completing pirate-themed challenges presented in Sailing, Music, Flying, and Map and Spyglass classes. Features include: hunting for doubloons on Doubloon Beach; a customizable pirate certificate signed by Jake; and the ability to import a child’s photo into Pixie Dust flying class.

Disney Channel’s Disney Junior block ended 1Q 2012 with its highest 1Q ratings ever across target demos Kids 2-5, Girls 2-5, Boys 2-5, Women 18-49 and Total Viewers (1.4 million), marking its 5th straight quarter of posting quarterly highs (1Q11 to 1Q12) in Kids 2-5 and Boys 2-5. Year to date, "Doc McStuffins" and "Jake and the Never Land Pirates" are the Top 2 cable TV series in Kids 2-5 and Boys 2-5, and the Top 2 preschool cable TV series in Total Viewers and Women 18-49. Disney Junior reflects the emotional connection generations of consumers have to Disney storytelling and Disney characters, both classic and contemporary. It invites mom and dad to join their child in the Disney experience of magical, musical and heartfelt stories and characters, while incorporating specific learning and development themes designed for kids age 2-7. Disney Junior’s series blend Disney’s unparalleled storytelling and characters kids love deeply with learning, including early math, language skills, healthy eating and lifestyles, and social skills. Disney Junior launched in February 2011 with a daily programming block on Disney Channel. In its first year, Disney Junior posted the network’s biggest yearly audience in the daypart in Total Viewers, Kids 2-5, Boys 2-5 and Women 18-49, increasing by double-digit margins among preschooler demographics over year-ago levels. On March 23, 2012 Disney Junior added a cable and satellite channel in the U.S. bringing the total number of channels to 29 worldwide.

I am not a fan of high school reunions. I did not have many friends and the ones I did have are still my friends today. I hated my high school and I hated the snobs that went to school there. I resisted going to any of my reunions until the 25th. Major mistake. I should have known better. I talked to my friends and my friends only. The rest of them were too busy comparing their uppity little lives (not to mention the ones that were trying to cheat on their spouses with anyone they thought would). My husband succeeded in getting drunk and embarrassed me. Needless to say, I will not attend any more reunions.

In Seventeen Ain’t So Sweet, Jane heads to her high school reunion and brings along Maura. The fun is cut short after a series of murders take place all involving fellow students. Jane is forced to focus on the past to help solve the case when she realizes that everyone in her class is a potential suspect. My reunion was not as dramatic as Jane’s but it would make a good soap opera or chick flick.

Chuck Versus The Santa Suit: The Complete Fifth Season of Chuck on DVD/Blu-Ray #sp

May 082012

In this 5th and final season, Chuck is back with new missions, a new business — and no Intersect. The stakes are high as Chuck sets out to become a full-fledged spy. But without the CIA as backup, Chuck will have to rely now more than ever on John Casey, Sarah Walker, and a new Intersect — Morgan Guillermo Grimes. Across this thrilling final season, Chuck will find that his wits, his friends, and his family are the only backup he needs. Loaded with extra content and even a mind-blowing extended version of the series finale, this DVD is everything a fan could want!

In ‘Chuck Versus the Santa Suit’, it is Christmas at the Buy More. Chuck’s sister Ellie is in full Christmas mode, meanwhile the Omen virus has infected computers worldwide. The virus causes holiday shoppers to panic and things get a little out of control.

In my opinion, shopping is not a fun thing to do. This is especially true when there are huge sales or if a store has a super coupon day. Living in a small town, the places to shop are minimal so everyone shows up at the same store for the best deals. Let’s just say that I refuse to shop on Black Friday and the tax-free weekend. I don’t do crowds and nowadays people get crazy over deals.

You can save 20% and get free shipping from the wbshop on the complete 5th season of Chuck on DVD/Blu-ray by using promo code c5wbwrd. Check it out at

In Season 5 episode 3, Morgan has been experiencing certain side effects from the Intersect. The beginning of this episode leaves Chuck wondering why on earth his oldest, closest friend had transformed into an obnoxious and petulant man. Have you ever experienced something similar with a close friend? Was there any explanation for their behavior, and how did things end up working out?

Unfortunately, I have experienced someone changing like this first hand. My sister, who I thought was my best friend in the whole wide world totally changed when our dad got sick. She became someone I did not know. She and my 2 brothers caused my parents to get a divorce after being married for 64 years. As for the cause, in my opinion, it was pure greed. It has been almost 2 years since my father’s death and my mom, my other 2 sisters and me have not spoken to either of my brothers or my sister. It has been very traumatic for all of those involved. I miss my best friend.

Reviews, TV/Movies  Comments Off on Marvel Pet Apparel & Toys Are Now At PetSmart For A Limited Time
Mar 242012

Just in time for the upcoming release of Marvel’s The Avengers (coming to theaters on May 4, 2012),  PetSmart has just launched the new Marvel pet apparel and toy collection that will enable your pet to Boom! Bang! Pow! their way to super-powered play time. The 41-piece collection is available for a limited time in PetSmart stores and online at

027I was given the opportunity to do a review of a cute shirt and a Spiderman toy. When I first opened the box, Caden told me that the shirt was a boy shirt and his girl dog could not wear a boy shirt. I finally convinced him that it could be for a girl or a boy. Once we got it on her, he kept saying how “tute” (his “c” sounds like a “t”) she looked. Our little Puppycakes had a blast with her new clothes and new toy. Of course, the first thing she did was go outside to play. She had fun taunting the other dogs by running away from them. She did not want to share at all.

After she was through playing, she proceeded to pose for the camera. 034

How cute is that ————————————————–> She was loving her new outfit. She is only one of our 4 dogs. You can read about our other babies HERE. P-cakes, as I call her, is only 4 months old. She is part Shih Tzu and part something else.  She is our little diva dog and loves to play dress up!

Be sure to visit PetSmart either in-store or online to get your furbaby their very own Marvel apparel and toys! I know you will love them as much as we do.

Pound Puppies Homeward Pound Review

Reviews, TV/Movies  Comments Off on Pound Puppies Homeward Pound Review
Mar 152012

I have always been a fan of the Pound Puppies. I was really excited when I saw that they are still on TV-only updated. My son has been a fan of Pound Puppies ever since he saw his first episode. We recorded quite a few episodes of Pound Puppies on our DVR so he could watch them. On this DVD, The Pound Puppies at Shelter 17 are on a mission to find forever homes for the homeless pups that come through the door. The Pound Puppies series currently airs on The Hub in the US and YTV in Canada.

The Pound Puppies Homeward Pound DVD was released on March 6 and contains five episodes:

  • Homeward Pound
  • My Fair Rebound
  • Quintuplets
  • K-9 Kid
  • Zoltron

The Pound Puppies  DVD also includes a bonus feature, "Learn To Draw Lucky". My son and I had a great time drawing Lucky.

I received a copy of this DVD for review. No other compensation was received. All opinions are 100% my own.

Paul The Male Matchmaker: My Favorite Episode #SP

TV/Movies  Comments Off on Paul The Male Matchmaker: My Favorite Episode #SP
Mar 022012

53cd2cc634_paul_the_male_matchmaker_[2]When Paul inherits a matchmaking company from his Aunt Cathy, he wonders what his aunt could have possibly been thinking. But he soon realizes it makes perfect sense: by his own estimation, Paul is very attractive, super-likable and a really happy person — and he’s got a fantastic marriage to a very wealthy woman, Teri. Although Paul’s confident that he is the perfect person to help women find love, his approach is going to be a little different from that of his Aunt Cathy. His no-holds-barred philosophy toward dating can be surprising and frustrating to the women he is helping, but no matter how hilarious it may appear, his focus is always on being brutally honest with his clients.

Have you had a chance to catch Paul The Male Matchmaker on Hulu yet? I finally had a chance to watch all of the episodes. I would have to say that my favorite episode of the series has to be the very last one. The episode, Never Give Up on Love, is the where Paul is consistently unable to find a match for one of his clients. It finally dawns on Paul that Maureen from consumer affairs is the perfect match for his client. The fun part is when he tries to get them together. They finally get together and fall in love. Paul finally can claim to be a true matchmaker.

The reason I love this episode is that you never really know when you will be thrown together with your true love.

Review of The Adventures of Chuck & Friends: Friends To The Finish

TV/Movies  Comments Off on Review of The Adventures of Chuck & Friends: Friends To The Finish
Mar 012012

Drivers, prepare to buckle up! The Adventures of Chuck & Friends: Friends To The Finish arrived on DVD on February 14, 2012, from Shout! Factory in collaboration with Hasbro, Inc. Featuring 10 exhilarating episodes, The Adventures of Chuck & Friends also touts a color-your- own-cover activity.

Follow CHUCK THE DUMP TRUCK character and his incredible cast of friends in this delightfully fast-paced, song-filled, high-energy series for preschoolers. Every visitor to the truck stop where CHUCK lives fuels his exciting fantasies, and he enlists his pals Digger, Boomer, Rowdy, Soku, Biggs and Handy to turn those fantasies into reality. The Adventures of Chuck & Friends series is currently airing on The Hub TV Network in the U.S. and on Tre

Caden was excited to be able to watch his new Chuck DVD on the way to school. He has been an avid Chuck fan ever since he first watched it several years ago. He was able to watch all 10 episodes over several trips to school. The 10 episodes include:

  • Race To the Race
  • The Best
  • Chuck’s Big Break
  • Game On
  • Revving Up Rally
  • Grandpa Treadwell
  • Chuck Backs Up
  • Need For Speed
  • Vertie’s Stunt School
  • Dancing Wheels

Every episode of Chuck has a lesson to be learned. In my opinion, it is a great way for kids to learn things that are important in life. Each character has their own unique characteristics:

He’s a little dump truck with a big sense of humor and lots of energy. Chuck is always curious and has a way of dreaming big — then putting his dreams into action. He loves to go places and find out how things work, and he never backs away from anything new.

This little monster truck loves to live large. Biggs has energy to burn … and a "go for it" attitude that keeps him ready for anything, anytime. He really stands out with his giant tires, rally flag, shiny tailpipes, and steer horns. You can just tell Biggs dreams of being a race star — and he gets plenty of practice racing against Chuck.

Did you ever think a fire truck could be shy? Boomer is big, and he can be loud, but he needs Chuck around to pull him out of his shiny red shell. He may need a push to join in an adventure, but Boomer always jumps into action when it’s time to help a friend. His sirens blare and his lights flash — so you’d never guess that Boomer is really a quiet guy at heart.

Digger is the strong, silent type of front-loader of Hispanic descent, happy to let his powerful scooper and backhoe do the talking for him. For the most part, he’s content to let others make the plans and just follow along, but he’s not without opinions. Digger is smart, gentle and considerate – He’d never use his great strength in anger. He’s also level-headed and surprisingly graceful for a truck of his size. Digger is completely, one hundred percent reliable. If he sets out to get something done, you can bet that he will, even if he’s up until the milk trucks make their rounds.

Handy is the “get it done” fully-loaded tool truck, who’s so fully loaded, he’s never quite sure of exactly what he has on board. He is a creative, inventive sort who’s up for anything, which makes him very simpatico with Chuck. He is always ready to use his Handy hook which enables him to do just about anything.

He’s also very encouraging, quick to note the gifts his friends have, even if they don’t, and to suggest to them ways they might think outside the box to use them. Handy is also very generous, willing to loan anyone any of his tools…After all, he probably has a spare inside himself somewhere!

Rowdy the garbage truck has no clue that he’s smelly, loud, a little clumsy and completely excitable – and probably wouldn’t care if he did know! He’s a big, energetic, physical teddy bear who loves to collect off things, is eager to please, and even more eager to join in the fun, leaving a trail of garbage behind. Comments about his stench or the commotion he causes roll right off his back. Rowdy is proud of the things that make him uniquely him, and he’s not going to change for anyone…then he wouldn’t be himself. That sense of individuality makes him one of Chuck’s favorite people.

If you hear the latest hot tune coming from over that hill, you better get ready, because that means Soku is on his way! And every time Soku comes to visit, this slick custom car has something new to pop out of his sunroof and show off – a new stereo, a new chrome hitch, a new gear rack, or a new paint job. He is a born show-off who always knows the latest and greatest of everything. One thing Soku is definitely not into is getting dirty – Hey, it’s not easy looking this awesome! Lucky for Soku, his vanity is endearing and he is extremely tech-savvy, knowing how every latest gadget on the market works. If he’s behind on a trend – or on something he thinks might be a trend – he works tirelessly until he is the undisputed expert…and sometimes his knowledge comes in very handy!

Caden also loves singing the Chuck song-“Let’s go me and you…”
