ReviewsComments Off on Rubbermaid LunchBlox Review
My son started kindergarten this year. Along with being in the big kid school comes taking his lunch to school. Yesterday was his first day to take his lunch because they were having something he does not like. I am pretty particular about what he takes to eat and also keeping cold things cold. It is also very important to have leak proof containers. Lucky for me, I received a LunchBlox™ Sandwich Kit from Rubbermaid to review. I just knew it would be perfect for his lunch. The boxes are air tight and have a great seal that does not leak.
Features of the kit are:
Modular containers snap together in to save space in your lunch bag
Kit includes specially designed Blue Ice™ pack that works with LunchBlox containers to keep lunches chilled on the go
Containers are perfectly portioned for lunch foods commonly carried away from home
Microwave-, dishwasher- and freezer-safe and BPA-free
The Sandwich Kit includes a sandwich container sized for regular and specialty breads, two snack containers (perfect for yogurt or nuts) and a snack container (perfect for fruits, vegetables and chips)
In my opinion, the kit is just the right size for a child’s or an adult’s lunch. I easily packed a sandwich, a bowl of fruit and some crackers in the kit. The clincher for me is the added ice pack that snaps into place in between the containers. The blue ice keeps the food cold until lunch time. All-in-all, this product is a winner for me!
In addition to the LunchBlox™ Sandwich Kit, Rubbermaid also offers several additional sizes including the LunchBlox™ Salad Kit, LunchBlox™ Entrée Kit, and LunchBlox™ Containers. You can purchase the LunchBlox™ Sandwich Kit for $12.99 at retailers nationwide.
I received this product for review. No other compensation was received for this review.
ReviewsComments Off on Mario Olives: A Great New Taste
I recently had the opportunity to try a few packages of Mario Snack Olives. I am a huge olive fan and was excited to get to try these tasty little olives that came in a pouch and not a can or a jar.
I received 2 packages each of Kalamata, Garlic and Chili-all flavored with thyme. I would have to say that the garlic was my favorite, although the other two flavors were amazing too. I really liked the convenience of the packaging. It was easy to take along when I had an event where I was selling my jewelry. I even shared them with the girls in the booth next to me. They were very interested in getting some for themselves.
Mario Olives are packed in convenient 100 calorie pouches and are a healthy alternative to cookies, chips, and other high calorie snacks. Mario Olives are packed without brine and are lightly coated in olive oil to keep them juicy and delicious. The olives are available in 3 mildly seasoned flavors: garlic, chili, and kalamata seasoned with thyme. You can learn more at www.marioolives.com and be sure follow Mario Olives on Facebook and Twitter.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
It used to be that every morning when I walked into the kitchen, I would be met with a counter full of empty Coke Zero cans. I love my Zeros and I drink a lot of them. I am also bad about putting the cans on the counter. Yes, I could walk the extra 10 feet to open the door to the laundry room where my can crusher is mounted to the wall, but many times I am in too much pain to walk any farther so I just set them down on the counter or in the sink. I then end up having to carry them a few at a time (on a good day pain-wise) to crush them. Lucky for me, I was chosen to review the Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler.
The Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler fits discreetly behind my cabinet door. It also holds a LOT of cans. By a lot, I mean about 36 of those suckers. It has 2 ways of attaching to your cabinet door. It either hooks over the top or you can get a couple of screws to attach it to the door. I ended up having to screw mine to the door because it would not work hanging over the door due the the style of my cabinet doors. As you can see by the picture, you can use it for just about anything recyclable. I love the fact that once I fill the bag, I can grab the handle and take the entire bag to the laundry room to crush the cans. No more making 10 trips. No more cluttered counters. I LOVE IT! The bag can even be removed and washed. How awesome is that?? In my opinion, that is very awesome!
“We are very excited to introduce the Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler that gets recyclables off the counter and hidden out of sight. The features of the product include:
Easy attachment to a cabinet door with hooks included with the product or screws
A convenient handle allows the bag to easily be transported to wherever your recycling is stored for pickup or transport
A 5 gallon bag that holds up to 36 12-ounce cans and can fit a milk jug
The bag has a leak-proof liner and is machine washable to make it easy to clean after any unexpected spills
The bag is soft-sided allowing for flexibility inside any cabinet
The bag and all packaging is made from recyclable material, and the product is recyclable”

ReviewsComments Off on Avery Products: Shoplet Top Blogger Review
I was recently chosen as one of Shoplet’s Top Bloggers. As part of the blogger program, I get to review some really awesome products. I previously wrote a review on few office supplies from Avery. As a thank you for providing the review, I was sent several more items in appreciation. In this shipment, I received:
Large blue zippered tote bag- Made of heavy duty canvas, this tote bag is great for carrying those “just-in-case” items that you may need. It would also make a great beach or snack bag.
Small insulated lunch bag-Great for taking your lunch or a few snacks and drink that you need to keep cold.
Reusable water bottle-Made of eco-friendly materials, this bottle is great to take on that bike ride, run or even just to use around the house.
4GB flash drive-Very handy to use to back up your files, photos, etc.
All of these items have already been useful to me and I really love the fact that they were sent to me in appreciation of my previous review.
Reviews, TV/MoviesComments Off on Marvel Pet Apparel & Toys Are Now At PetSmart For A Limited Time
Just in time for the upcoming release of Marvel’s The Avengers (coming to theaters on May 4, 2012), PetSmart has just launched the new Marvel pet apparel and toy collection that will enable your pet to Boom! Bang! Pow! their way to super-powered play time. The 41-piece collection is available for a limited time in PetSmart stores and online at www.petsmart.com.
I was given the opportunity to do a review of a cute shirt and a Spiderman toy. When I first opened the box, Caden told me that the shirt was a boy shirt and his girl dog could not wear a boy shirt. I finally convinced him that it could be for a girl or a boy. Once we got it on her, he kept saying how “tute” (his “c” sounds like a “t”) she looked. Our little Puppycakes had a blast with her new clothes and new toy. Of course, the first thing she did was go outside to play. She had fun taunting the other dogs by running away from them. She did not want to share at all.
After she was through playing, she proceeded to pose for the camera.
How cute is that ————————————————–> She was loving her new outfit. She is only one of our 4 dogs. You can read about our other babies HERE. P-cakes, as I call her, is only 4 months old. She is part Shih Tzu and part something else. She is our little diva dog and loves to play dress up!
Be sure to visit PetSmart either in-store or online to get your furbaby their very own Marvel apparel and toys! I know you will love them as much as we do.
ReviewsComments Off on Where Does Your Dog Sleep? (Nature’s Sleep Dog Bed Review)
My fur babies have always slept in the bed with me. I have 4 fur children that bark and 3 that meow. The cats come and go but the dogs are usually in bed all night and never move. It has gotten very annoying for sure. I have a 90lb boxer, a 50lb English bulldog and 2 small dogs-a shih tzu and a shih tzu mix. Have you ever tried to move a 90lb boxer in order to get your covers? Believe me, it is not easy. Seriously, look how big those feet are! He is huge! Recently, I was given the opportunity to review a Nature’s Sleep Dog Bed with Memory foam. I was really excited to get the bed. I could not wait to get at least one of the big dogs out of my bed.
I have always been a fan of the Pound Puppies. I was really excited when I saw that they are still on TV-only updated. My son has been a fan of Pound Puppies ever since he saw his first episode. We recorded quite a few episodes of Pound Puppies on our DVR so he could watch them. On this DVD, The Pound Puppies at Shelter 17 are on a mission to find forever homes for the homeless pups that come through the door. The Pound Puppies series currently airs on The Hub in the US and YTV in Canada.
The Pound Puppies Homeward Pound DVD was released on March 6 and contains five episodes:
My Fair Rebound
The Pound Puppies DVD also includes a bonus feature, "Learn To Draw Lucky". My son and I had a great time drawing Lucky.
I received a copy of this DVD for review. No other compensation was received. All opinions are 100% my own.
We love to eat salsa at our house. Therefore, I was excited to be able to try Mrs. Renfro’s salsa. I like my salsa mild and somewhat sweet but my husband likes it on the HOT side. I was able to choose the flavors I wanted to review. I chose habanero, tequila, peach and pineapple for my review.
Salsa does not last in the pantry very long around here. This is especially true if it is on the HOT side. The habanero lasted maybe 30 minutes. We always have chips on hand so the habanero made a quick, tasty snack. He informed me that it was definitely hot and that I would not be able to eat it. He has been begging me to get some more for him. The other 3 jars were used in some of my favorite recipes. The labels also had recipe suggestions.
For the pineapple salsa, I cooked it with a boneless pork loin. I sliced the pork into strips and cooked it with a little olive oil in my electric skillet along with a sliced onion and some bell pepper. I added the salsa along with salt and pepper to taste. I served it over rice.
I used the tequila salsa in another dish with the same ingredients substituting chicken for the pork. I served it with flour tortillas in place of the rice.
The peach salsa was used for beef enchiladas. I browned 1 lb ground chuck and added 2 large onions (sliced). I cooked it until the onions were soft, then added the salsa. After simmering for 10 minutes over low heat, I scooped the mixture into corn tortillas, rolled them up and placed them in a baking pan. I covered the enchiladas with sauce and cheese then baked them in the oven until the cheese was melted.
All of the dishes were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend Mrs. Renfro’s salsa for your next meal or snack. Mrs. Renfro’s salsas are:

Time and money savers

Looking for educational toys that allow your child to explore, create and experiment? Look no farther-Smartlab Toys has toys that fit the bill. I was given the opportunity to review the You-Build-It RoboXplorer.
Kids build their very own multiterrain robotic vehicle, complete with six S-shaped legs designed to conquer some of the toughest terrains, such as sand, rocks, and grass. Test its limits by towing toy cars, climbing a stack of books, or negotiating a wall—RoboXplorer will stop at almost nothing!
Caden and I had so much fun putting this together. We laid out all of the pieces and I had him look at the instructions and tell me how to put it together. He loves being hands-on when we are building things. After we got it assembled, we took it outside for some night time experimenting. I loved the idea that it had lights, especially since it was dark. Our cats chased it around thinking it was their toy.
This is definitely a fun toy. I would recommend it as a great project to work on with your child. You can purchase the RoboXplorer, as well as any of the other great products from Smartlab Toys directly from the Smartlab Toys website and save 25% by using savings code: BLOGDEAL0412 (expires 4/30/12). I was recently given the opportunity to review the Swingline Stack-and-Shred Shredder 60X. What an awesome machine! I have one of those “other” shredders that is on top of a trash can and it does not hold a candle to the Swingline Stack-and-Shred.Not only is the “other” shredder ugly, I never used it because with a young child in the house, I was worried about little fingers getting in the blades. With the Stack-and-Shred, everything is enclosed which made me feel much better about leaving it out in the open. Did I mention that it also looks good?
Having spent a lot of time shredding confidential papers when I was working an office job, I know what it means to spend the whole day shredding papers. I spent countless hours in front of a shredder feeding page after page into the chomping blades. The companies I worked for subsequently hired a shredding company to come in and do the dirty work. Keep in mind that the Swingline Stack-and-Shred 60X is not designed for larger office environments but it is perfect for home or a smaller office. Swingline does make larger Stack-and-Shred shredders with the capabilities of shredding larger amounts of paper.
As you can see from my pictures, I started out with a good-sized stack of papers to shred. While I was shredding paper, I was able to do a few household chores. How could I do that? Easy. I opened the top of the shredder, placed the paper inside and shut the top. I was able to wash a sink full of dishes while the shredder did its job. When that stack was finished, I proceeded with my next stack after emptying the shredded paper drawer. I swept the floors while that stack was reduced to shreds of paper. I continued stacking the papers (about 60 pages at a time) and dumping the drawer whenever it would finish.
Meanwhile, my son was anxiously watching the paper fall into the drawer through the clear area of the drawer. This is another great feature-you can see when the drawer is getting full.
By now, I bet you are wondering how loud this machine is. In my opinion, it sounds something like a hand mixer on low speed. Not very loud at all. As you can see, it did not seem to bother my FuFu Kitty while she was eating. She is due to have kittens any day now. (Need a kitty or two?)
I ended up with a huge trash bag full of shredded paper and a lot of work done. It was nice to feel productive. Especially after being sick all week and not getting anything at all done around the house.
My overall impression of the Swingline Stack-and-Shred is A+. I love it. It is well worth the price and I see my future as being free of stacks of papers to be shredded or burned. A couple of other features that I have not mentioned are:
Shreds regular sized staples and paper clips without having to remove the staples before putting them into the shredder
Shreds credit cards
Manual feed option where you can just insert a few pages in the slot on top. This is also good if you have envelopes.
Things to remember:
The shredder is not a magician-don’t expect it to pull an envelope full of papers into the blades. Envelopes do better if placed through the manual slot.
If you recycle the shredded paper, be sure to not let items mix in with the paper. For example, when shredding a credit card, empty the paper bin so the shards of plastic do not mix with the paper.
Don’t expect to shred stack after stack at one session. The poor machine will need a break in between, even if you don’t. There is even a cool down indicator just to let you know. If you have a lot papers to shred on a regular basis, you should check into the larger capacity shredders available from Swingline.
Now, are you ready for this? You can buy one of these awesome SWINGLINE Stack-and-Shred 60X Hands Free Shredder, 60 Sheet Capacity, Black (1757572) at Amazon for $139.99 (at the time of this post) OR you can enter to win one!!
