This is my own recipe which I came up with when I was probably about 12 or so. I made these a couple of weeks ago to try with my flipflop wine for the review I did on the Pinot Noir. It was a definite match!
1 1/2c vegetable shortening
1c 2T brown sugar
1c 2T granulated sugar
1 1/2t vanilla
3c unsifted flour
1 1/2t baking soda
1 1/2t salt
2 or 3c chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375 F.
Cream shortening, sugars, vanilla, water, & eggs until light and fluffy.
Mix flour, soda, & salt in a bowl and blend into creamed mixture.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Using a teaspoon, drop cookies 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
Bake 10 minutes. (I always have to check mine at about 8 minutes, depends on the oven)
