This is what I cooked for dinner tonight. It turned out really good! Lucky for me sauerkraut is one of my son’s favorite foods.
PORK & KRAUT
4 boneless pork sirloin chops cut 3/4-inch thick
1 T vegetable oil
2 16-oz. cans sauerkraut, rinsed and drained
Salt and ground black pepper, to taste
1 onion, diced
2 t caraway seed
1 t dried thyme, crushed
2 large apples, cored and sliced into 1/2-inch wedges
1/4 cup water
- In a large skillet, brown the chops in vegetable oil for 3 to 5 minutes on each side, or until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a large bowl, stir together sauerkraut, onion, caraway, thyme, apple and water. Add to skillet; cover and cook 20 to 30 minutes or until apples are tender.
Makes 4 servings.
